Where did Creatively Country come from? Well, I am a female twenty-something who is living in the country for the first time in my life. I have always wanted to live in the country ever since I was a little girl riding Shetlands at my grandfather's farm. I love being surrounded by gorgeous country side and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. To me, being country doesn't have to be backwoods or redneck. Country can be chic, classy, elegant, rustic and vintage, and I hope a combination of all of those things and more!
Who am I? I have a Masters in English Language and Literature and I work as a freelance writer and editor. I enjoy blogging about my passion for antique and vintage finds, rustic decor elements, DIYs and home renovation. I am also including posts on wedding planning (August 2014!) in the blog. I wouldn't be able to do any of this without my wonderful fiance Brad who is the brains and brawn behind all of the hard work that goes into renovating our home. I am simply the planner, organizer and decor expert.
What else? In my spare time I am an equestrian and own a beautiful dappled grey gelding. I love horses and hope to have a horse farm one day in the not-so-distant future. I am a huge dog lover and have a Boxer-mix named Harley. I have twelve laying hens who live in our chicken coop and provide constant amusement. I try and post as much as I can about raising backyard chickens because its been a huge learning experience for me and I think it's a great way to start living sustainably. I am an amateur gardener and plant enthusiast. I do yoga regularly and try to be as healthy as possible eating locally and organically.
I'd love to hear from my readers you can comment or tweet me @creatvlycountry.
